4 signs that your cat loves you
Cats are known for their independent nature. They never wag their tails when they see you and go out of their way to lick and cuddle you. So, people think that they are aloof and detached towards their owners. Well, this is not true. Cats have their own special way of expressing their love and affection towards their caregivers.
Apart from sleeping at the drop of a hat, cats do seek out their caregivers by following them and sitting or sleeping beside them. They purr to show they feel contented and relaxed. They may also purr to say they are hungry.
There are also other subtle signs to know that your cat loves you:
- When they look at you straight in the eye it means they completely trust you and when they look at you with their eyes half closed it means they feel completely relaxed with you.
- Purring is a sign that your cat feels contented and is expressing their affection.
- If your feline buddy shows their stomach while playing or relaxing with you, this means they trust you.
- If your cat rubs against you and licks you, this shows that they are claiming ownership and marking you as part of their family!
In order to understand your cat you need to see them beyond their aloof and independent behaviour and appreciate them for their uniqueness. If you have any queries regarding their behaviour you can always contact a vet or a behaviorist.
Happy parenting!
