Dental care for your adult cat
Periodontal disease is very common in adult and older cats. This leads to inflamed gums and the ligaments surrounding and supporting the tooth slowly get infected, causing the tooth root to get exposed and a wobbly tooth. Bacterial infection is also very common and pus can also be seen around the tooth. You can tackle this condition by giving your cat dental treats, oral sprays or rinses and toothpastes recommended by your vet. If your cat’s tooth is severely infected then tooth extraction is the only solution.
Tooth diseases can be avoided if you take your pet to the vet for for regular check ups, by brushing his teeth regularly and by providing him dental chews and treats.
