Diabetes in adult cats – Symptoms
Diabetes is usually found in adult cats and senior cats. It is a condition that affects their blood sugar level. It could be caused due to various factors such as obesity, inactive lifestyle, high carbohydrates diet, kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, other infections, breed and gender of the cat.
The following are the symptoms of diabetes:
- Frequent thirst and increased appetite.
- Frequently passing urine.
- Weightloss.
- Weakness.
- Vomiting.
- Frequently falling sick and being more prone to skin or urinary tract infections.
Once you notice the above symptoms you need to take your feline buddy to the vet. He would diagnose the problem by conducting blood sugar tests and evaluate the results based on the test findings, physical examination and your pet’s history. So, it is vital that you consult your vet for early intervention and effective treatment.
