Why should I bathe my cat?
Nobody hates a bath like our feline buddy. Some cats love to be bathed and pampered while others would just claw their way out of their bath! Cats are by nature clean animals as they are experts at self grooming so therefore bathing them becomes an option and not a necessity.
Let’s face it, nobody likes a smelly cat! You need to give them a bath occasionally following it up with coat brushing, ear cleaning and nail trimming. The frequency of bathing your feline pal depends on his physical activities, grooming behaviour, health issues and the surrounding environment. So, it is less bath for healthy cats and frequent baths for sick and unhealthy cats.
You may need to bathe your cat if they have the following:
- Ringworms,
- Flea infestations,
- If they have some dirt or toxic substance on their coat,
- If your cat is obese or suffers from arthritis or other serious health issues.
Before giving them a bath it is advisable to take your vet’s advice regarding bathing procedure and bathing products.
